Last Week
We were thrilled to have an article in the LVN regarding our high achieving status. The Staff at the State Public Charter School Authority (SPCSA) had some wonderful things to say, and we really appreciate their support!
I got a HUGE surprise on bosses day! Mrs. Mori came running in here at recess screaming, "Julie, Melissa, somebody I need help. We have compound fracture on the playground." She went on and on in a panic. I grabbed my phone to call 911 and ran out the door only to find the entire school lined up on the playground. I couldn't understand what was going on, I was scanning the area for a hurt child when they yelled, "Happy Bosses Day!" Needless to say, I was very surprised and my heart was racing.
I also attended a 2 day SPCSA board meeting in Las Vegas! The October meeting is when the board looks at staff recommendations to approve or deny charter school applications. It is very exciting to look at the schools, the concepts, and the committees to form that are going to be offering another choice to parents next year. There are some really ambitious folks out there who are dedicating themselves to working with some extremely difficult populations! I look forward to watching them succeed!
Next Week
Next Wednesday students can wear their costumes to school. No scary masks, or skimpy costumes allowed; the costume must cover as much skin as the uniform. We will have a costume parade, which is always lots of fun!
