Community Thrift: Thrifting at It's Finest!

In recent weeks we have alluded to an exciting new project that will provide endless hours of volunteer time during the school day,  after hours, and on weekends!  Not only will we have lots of volunteer opportunities, but we will begin to have a steady income for FOA and other community organizations.

The idea was not ours (though years from now when it is wildly successful we may claim it as our own), but we saw it as an opportunity that was way too good to pass up.  You will access the 11,000 square foot space for our thrift store by going through Louie's Dollar Plus.  We do not have an exact opening date, but we are steadily working on this project.  We are hoping to involve any and all organizations who provide services, scholarships, etc to young people.  If you are involved in such an organization, get in touch with me and I will share what details we have

The reason I am sharing this news with you now, with so few details to give, is because we NEED YOUR DONATIONS!

ITEMS WE REALLY NEED:

  • Any type of furniture (tables, chairs, end tables, couches)
  • Home decor items (lamps, pictures, etc.)
  • Electronics
  • Clothes, especially MEN'S!
ITEMS WE CANNOT ACCEPT:
  • Mattresses
  • Stuffed Animals
  • Broken Toys
  • Cribs and/or car seats
At this time we will accept donations during the school day.  If you have items in bags you can drop them off any time.  If you have a big item (furniture, exercise equipment) please call ahead so we can make sure that someone is here to help unload it.  Pass the word!
