THIS WEEK
We only have two days of school this week as we will be celebrating the Thanksgiving holiday. I know personally, I have so much to be grateful for and I look forward to counting my blessings with family.
We also are having our drive by SCRIP again this week. Be sure and stock up for all that Christmas shopping you are sure to do this weekend!
LAST WEEK
Last week was Veterans Day. We took Thursday the 8th to pay tribute to our Veterans. Students brought in pictures of their family members, past and present who have served our great country. We even had some active military family members present. The kinder, first, second, seventh, and eighth graders sang a beautiful song that Miss Dana taught them. We have hung up all of our Veteran pictures in the school, so be sure and check it out.
NEXT WEEK
Please send in cans for the canned food drive! Oasis Academy did a fantastic job with the coat drive, and last year we collected A LOT of food, let's have a repeat this year.
One of my family traditions is we have an advent calendar during Christmas. We try to have the majority of days be something you do rather than a gift (make a ginger bread house, paint an ornament, go see A Christmas Carol, etc.). Every year one of days is "Pick out a Toy for Tots." You may have noticed that we actually have a Toys for Tots bin here at the school this year. I know my kids will participate through our advent calendar, it's a great way to help teach our students the true spirit of the holiday season! I would love for our students to see that box FILLED TO THE TOP BY DECEMBER 13th!!!
