This week
This week is a "quiet" week at Oasis Academy, with Mr. O'Neill and I both off campus a few times for trainings.
Our Quidditch Reading Contest begins this week. Look for the form in an email today! Your child keeps track of how many chapters (older grades) and time (20 minutes for a point for younger kids) and turns in their score on Oct. 11, 18, and 24.
Remember, your pizza coupon is good for 3 pieces of pizza. If your kiddos need more please send them with a side item or an extra coupon.

Last Week
In an effort to continually recognize those Bighorns who are deserving of an extra pat on the back, we are having student of the month awards. Classroom teachers chose whomever they feel is most deserving for any reason. This month we had students chosen for a variety of reasons from always trying their hardest to being a great group member! Students also receive a free mini pizza from Pappa Murphy's. This months award winners were Lillie Wohl (8th), Becca McKnight (7th), Michael Montes Cox (6th), Conor Keitz (5th), Trejan Louk (4th), Jerek Mayhue (3rd), Brielle Johnson (2nd), Collin Homer (1st), Ambrea Snodgrass (K).
Blue Team, October Academic Olympics (24 pts)
White Team, October Academic Olympics (21 pts)
We also had our first Academic Olympics. It was a lot of fun! If you look closely you will see we had two sets of sisters against each other! Everyone was a good sport. The teachers each chose one student from blue and white team. They also submitted two questions based on current material they are learning, as well as one challenge question! It was so fun to watch the kids and see them cheer on their team mates! I'm hopeful they came home and told you all about it!
