It is with a full heart that I write this blog post. Mrs. Ashley Koontz, our third grade teacher will not be returning next year. While I am sad for us, I am happy for Ashley because she has accepted a position at a new charter school in Reno called the Honors Academy of Literature (if you have Reno friends you should direct them to this school- it promises to be amazing!). As many of you know, Ashley commutes all the way from Reno to teach our students so this is a good move for her personally. I cannot thank her enough for joining us after the year started. She jumped into a less than ideal situation for a first year teacher and did a great job. We will truly miss her, as will your children who all adore her!
We are currently accepting applications to fill her shoes, which won't be easy to do. We wish her the very best of luck. I, myself, will follow her career closely and look forward to doing so! Her leaving has been so traumatic for me, I have told the rest of the staff they are not allowed to leave- ever!
