Happy February!

THIS WEEK

This Friday night is our Valentine's Dance for all 6th, 7th, and 8th graders!  These dances are a lot of fun and provide a safe place for kids to have a good time and spread their wings a little bit!

We also had our big awards assembly today!

This months students of the month (Not sure why it's blurry, going to take another one tomorrow)!

These students received the Bighorn Award!  I describe this award as "all around awesomeness!"  These kiddos work hard, honor the tribes agreement, and have great attitudes!

This is, I think, my favorite award - The most improved!  I tell the students, no matter where you are at, we can all improve and I love the chance to honor kids who have been working hard and had results. Way to go!

These are our A-honor kids!  Remember at Oasis Academy you have to have ALL A's for the semester!  Not an easy task!  Congrats!

Third grade B-honor roll (All As and Bs - NO Cs)!

Fourth Grade B-honor roll!

Fifth Grade B-honor roll!

Sixth Grade B-honor roll!

Seventh Grade B-honor roll!

Eighth Grade B-honor roll!

LAST WEEK

Have  I mentioned that I love being a project based learning school!  I love to see their minds at work and the things they create!

The Native American dwellings in 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade have turned out very cool.  I love walking in and hearing students explaining to a substitute why their model (not pictured) is a "summer dwelling."

The 6th, 7th, and 8th graders have learned a lot about physics in their forces of motion project.  I think they all learned that what looked good on the blueprint didn't always turn out as they expected.  It was awesome to watch them struggle,  furrow their brows in frustration, and then finally celebrate when their simple machine finally worked!

LOVE this picture!
