BLUE VS. WHITE
We are off to a successful start to the new school year! We have divided into our teams: blue and white. I realize some families have students on different teams. That is okay! One of the ways your child can earn points for his or her team is to collect the Campbells/Box Tops labels and bring them into school. You can either divide your Box Tops/Campbell's labels equally between your children (if you have more than student here) or put the responsibility on your children to cut them out and get them to school. Whoever remembers to cut them off, gets them (one less thing for you to worry about)! As you know we are running a special challenge with SCRIP! Any family who orders a SCRIP card or buys one from the store in the month of September will earn a point for each of their children. Any parent who signs up for and uses Presto Pay will earn each of their children 5 points! I'm sure you will hear a lot about this challenge throughout the school year.
VOLUNTEER TRAINING
Remember we have 3 more volunteer training opportunities coming up. You MUST have a training to begin volunteering in the school, even if you volunteered last year. The dates and times are Wednesday the 29th at 6:00 p.m., and Thursday the 30th at 2:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. All classroom volunteers should plan on starting next week. Lunch room and P.E. volunteers should start this week, so make sure you get your training!
PLEASE TURN IN YOUR FORMS
We have a lot of families who have not yet turned in the appropriate forms. Please look at the following list and deadlines and make sure you have turned in what you need to.
- Student Information Sheet by THURSDAY AUG. 30th
- Income Verification (I know you hate this, so do we, but at the very least we need you to fill in the household members and basic information on the form, leave the income off if it makes you really uncomfortable) by THURSDAY AUG. 30th
- The last page of the student handbook by THURSDAY AUG. 30th
- Internet Use Agreement (located behind the student handbook) by THURSDAY AUG. 30th
- No Fuss Fundraiser by MONDAY SEPTEMBER 17th
SHARE YOUR GOOD NEWS
This year we are really trying to highlight the accomplishments of our students both in and out of the classroom. If you have a picture of something your child did outside of class please send it to Jamie Hyde at jhydeFOA@oasisacademyfallon.us Jamie maintains the FOA blog and Facebook page so she will share all that great news! Also, if you see something about the contest with Target and Nevada State Bank we have going on via Facebook right now, email Jamie at the above address and she will spread the word.
PIZZA STARTS THURSDAY
This year we are getting our pizza from Dominos. You can buy coupons in books of 5 for $15.00 from Mrs. Evans. You can't buy a single coupon, only a $15.00 book of 5!
