Where Did the Year Go?

I keep hearing teachers say, "It doesn't feel like we should only have 4 days left" or "It doesn't feel like the end of the year!"  I totally agree, but I think that is a good sign because it means we have been actively learning, still engaged in the educational process- which, in my opinion, is how it should be.  The fun should really start on the first day of summer vacation, not 2 weeks before school gets out (enough of the soap box)!

Quick reminder to finish your surveys if you haven't already! The data we collect will be hugely important to our continued growth!

Congratulations to the staff and students of our 8th grade class, who had an 80% pass rate on the writing proficiency.  They worked incredibly hard to make that happen!

I am happy to report that the dance on Friday night was a HUGE success.  The students had a great time; but the highlight of the evening, for me, involved a teacher.  One of the student guests asked Mrs. Windriver, "You look like someone I know.  What grade are you in?"  HILARIOUS!!!

The yearbooks are in, and your child should be bringing them home today!  They are wonderful! A big thank you to the parents who put them together, they captured so many of the important moments, creating a historical document for the school!

We are looking forward to a wonderful 8th grade send off and field day. Actually, I'm wondering how I'm going to get through it. Every time I think about I start to cry, so it should be interesting. Forgive me please if I make a complete fool of myself.  I can't help myself, your children have captured my heart!  Maybe a go in the dunk tank will set me straight!  Again, a big thank you to all the people who have coordinated these events.  Hours of work go into pulling something like this off and we appreciate it.

Please watch for a very important email regarding the mandatory summer reading program.  Make sure you read it carefully and understand what the plan is before we are all on summer vacation.

Your children have worked incredibly hard this year, as have you, to make this first year a smashing success!  I wish you all a wonderful, long summer.  I will see you at the pool!
